Introduction to hypnosis

You will be learning what hypnosis is and how it works in relation to your mind. You will understand in a simple way how a behavior develops and how quickly people can learn habits.

You’ll learn the different parts of our mind like our conscious mind, subconscious mind, unconscious mind, and the critical faculty.

We will go deeper into how the mind functions and operates. You will learn the interaction between consciousness, subconscious and unconscious mind, and you will also learn why people in a normal state of consciousness do not accept hypnotic suggestions.

You’ll also learn how you can easily bypass the subconscious barrier to get people (or yourself) into hypnosis.

  1. The first contact with the client and the creation of trust (rapport)

You will learn why it is important that your client trusts you. You will also learn how to quickly and effectively create a bond of trust and maintain it effortlessly throughout the session.

  1. Conduct an optimal pretalk

A pre-talk makes or breaks the session as 90% of all failed hypnosis sessions are because of the lack of a good informative pretalk. A well-conducted pretalk reassures your client that hypnosis isn’t dangerous.

One of the main goals of a pretalk is to convince your clients of your authority & knowledge in the field of hypnosis (to ensure trust). You will also learn how to conduct an optimal intake interview (client history) with your clients that will increase your success rate.

  1. Eliminating fears and prejudices about hypnosis at the client

The fewer fears there are about hypnosis, the more at ease your client will be and the deeper he will go. There are many misunderstandings about hypnosis, and you will learn how to remove these misunderstandings so that your client will go into a deep state of hypnosis where the changes take place at the subconscious level.

  1. Suggestibility tests

A suggestibility test is used to discover how suggestive your client is to hypnosis. This is done before the session starts. It is also considered as a good warmup for hypnosis and puts the client in the right mood for a powerful hypnosis session.

  1. How do we put someone under hypnosis? Various induction methods.

An induction is a method or technique that places someone into hypnosis. Every person is unique, and some people need a different approach to be placed into a hypnotic state. Just as you can travel in different ways such as by car, by train, by boat or by plane, you can put people into hypnosis in various ways. You will learn different powerful inductions including the most famous one; the Dave Elman induction.

  1. The famous Dave Elman induction method + a newer practical version

If you just wanted to learn one induction, we’d teach you the Dave Elman induction. It is one of the best inductions and can be applied to both one-on-one and group sessions. Dave Elman is considered the godfather of direct hypnosis.

  1. Practicing with fellow students

You will practice the various hypnotic inductions you have learned with your fellow students. This is a very exciting moment because, for most of them, this is the very first time they’ll experience hypnosis.

This is a very fun and exciting part of the hypnosis training.

  1. Deepening the hypnotic state and testing it

Deepening the hypnosis to a workable level hypnotic state is important. The deeper someone goes into hypnosis, the quicker and more powerful the suggestions are imprinted into the subconscious mind. You will also learn how to test the depth of hypnosis by using hypnotic phenomena. These phenomena are also called convincers because they convince your clients they are indeed in hypnosis.
It is very important to convince your clients they have been put in a state of hypnosis. Because of this, the expectation of success will increase making your session a success.

  1. Delivering the hypnotic suggestions the right way

Hypnosis can be compared to repairing a car. When you open the hood, you have access to all the sensitive parts of your car. But then you need to know which filters you have to replace, what kind of oil you have to use and so on so your car will function properly again.

Hypnosis is very similar to this. Hypnotizing someone is like opening the hood of a car. You will learn what suggestions you can give to the subconscious mind and how you can formulate them. Making a wrong formulated suggestion to the subconscious mind is like using a smaller seal on your oil filter, this would lead to you having to change the oil; but because you have placed a wrong seal all the oil will eventually leak out, causing all your hard work to be wasted.

You’ll learn to avoid this mistake by giving positive suggestions that are correctly formulated which will enable your client to reach their goal.

  1. The importance of post-hypnotic suggestions

Hypnosis would be useless without post-hypnotic suggestions. A post-hypnotic suggestion is a suggestion that takes place after the hypnosis session. If your client only felt good during the session, then hypnosis would mean little to your clients. This is why a post-hypnotic suggestion ensures that your clients keep the desired changes.

A few examples of post-hypnotic suggestions are: "every time you encounter a spider you feel completely relaxed and at ease" or "from now on, chocolate does not interest you anymore, even if it is right in front of you."

  1. Reprogramming the subconscious mind & neutralizing negative memories

In this chapter, you will learn how to re-program the subconscious mind to behave as you wish. The subconscious mind is similar to a computer in many ways; sometimes you have outdated programs you no longer use. Installing a newer version of that program will solve the problem. This is similar to hypnosis: you remove unwanted habits (programs) and install new habits in the subconscious mind of your clients.

  1. For yourself: developing more charisma and personality

Charisma is an important ingredient in performing successful hypnosis sessions. You will develop a charisma that no one will be able to resist. It is a way to send strong signals to people around you so that they can feel the degree of your self-confidence. Charismatic people gain the trust of other people around them quickly. This is why it is a critical aspect for a hypnotist.

  1. Eliminating fears and other discomforts

You learn how to help clients get rid of fears and other discomforts.

  1. Pain management

You learn how to reduce/eliminate pain through hypnosis.

  1. Stress management, quitting smoking, and weight loss

You learn how to use hypnosis to rid your clients of stress. You will also learn how to effortlessly stop someone from smoking without pressure or withdrawal symptoms. You will learn how to help your clients lose weight with the use of hypnosis.

  1. Self-Hypnosis

In this chapter, you will learn how to teach your clients self-hypnosis so that your clients can apply hypnosis to themselves. Self-hypnosis is considered very useful in eliminating negative feelings, habits, and pain. It is particularly useful for people who want to lose weight by quickly getting rid of their desire for unhealthy food.

  1. Parts Therapy: working with subpersonalities

You will learn how hypnotic parts therapy works and how you can effectively apply this to bring about behavioral changes.

  1. Hypnotic Regression

You will learn the hypnotic regression which will develop your hypnosis abilities and results even further. Hypnotic regression therapy is one of the most complete therapeutic interventions.  It’s a method that’ll give your clients a life-changing experience.

You will learn the affect bridge regression technique. You will learn how to find the root cause of a problem (ISE) and how to neutralize it. You will learn how to use forgiveness therapy to help your clients let go of all the built-up anger.
